Painting Adventure in Italy & Germany Part 2

As promised in last week's installment, here are more acrylic sketches from my recent painting trip in Italy and Germany. Among other places, I painted in Naples, Cefalu, Gallipoli, Berlin, and Bavaria. At the bottom of the page, I've included a detailed description of my painting set-up.   Since my return from Europe, I've been busy in my studio creating larger oil versions of some of these scenes. Painting Adventure in Italy & Germany Part 1

I just returned from a painting trip in Italy and Germany. It was an incredible journey, and for over four weeks (May 16-through June 18) I painted close to thirty color sketches in acrylic. Most were no larger than 6x8". As I write this (June 28, 2019) these studies are serving as references in my studio for creating larger versions in oil for sale.    This blog focuses on my time in southern Italy. Behind the Scenes: Bath County Plein Air Festival

Between October 3-8, 2016 I participated in the Bath County Plein Air Festival, a juried event in a beautiful part of southwest Virginia.
