Also last week, I had a model in my studio who posed for this alla-prima 18x14" head study. He came in wearing a simple black tee, and agreed to let me drape a scarf around his neck. Maybe I still had the sunflowers on my mind, as the color is virtually identical.
The photo below shows the very beginning of the painting session, which lasted roughly four hours.
