Hello friends! Here's a commissioned painting I just turned over to a client. It's called Afternoon By The Ocean and measures 30x40". It was inspired by an earlier painting I did about a decade ago. The scene is the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and it's based upon plein-air sketches (and photos) done on location.

New at the gallery

A Place In The Sun (oil, 14x18" framed) was intended for my Exhibition of New Work earlier this summer, but was not included due to space limitations. It's now making its debut in my gallery space at Crossroads Art Center.

I was on the grounds of Tuckahoe Plantation looking for a location to paint. While

scouting for my spot, a cat wondered onto a brick patio off the side of the main house. He didn't stay long, but his sunny nap inspired this painting.

Reflection (oil, 27x33 framed) is also newly hanging at Crossroads.

This piece was based on plein-air sketches from a painting trip to Russia several years ago. While the architecture of the building is beautiful, what really impressed me was the distortion of its reflection in the pool at its base.
