Here's a work in progress, depicting a young Indian man reclining in the gardens at Humayun's Tomb in Delhi. The location was completed in 1570 as the resting place of the Emperor Humayun, and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The subject is named Naman, and he's a friend from Instagram, where he shares beautiful photos from around his home in Delhi. He had a friend take a series of photos in this setting, and the results were posted on his Instagram feed. I reached out to him with the request of using his images as inspiration for a painting. Thankfully, Naman is an art lover, and was delighted at the prospect.
