Hello! Welcome to the latest installment of Behind the Scenes. This post will provide a glimpse into my working life this winter & spring.

Adam at the Kitchen Window
Oil on canvas, 34x26", 2017

Fiddler On The Balcony

Oil on canvas, 38x26", 2017

Adam at the Kitchen Window and Fiddler On The Balcony were complex projects. Both required numerous live painting sessions on location with the models, creating color studies & compositional sketches, as well as extensive hours in the studio.

Preliminary sketches painted on location last summer, seen next to the finished painting. The studio work on Adam at the Kitchen Window began in November and ended in January.

Four preliminary sketches painted on location in October & November (on the balcony of my apartment), seen next to the finished painting. Studio painting began in January, and wrapped up in March.
