Painting from our apartment balcony in Sarajevo. Fantastic view, with the late afternoon sun hitting the minarets of various mosques. I had to work quick to get a small 6x8" preliminary study in acrylic before the sun faded. When I get home, my study will serve as a reference for a larger studio painting in oil.
Incidentally, as we were flying across the Atlantic, we realized we had inadvertently booked an apartment in Sarajevo for the wrong dates! We had to scramble to find an alternative, and thank goodness we did. The spot could not have provided a better view, and I didn't even have to lug my materials out in the crowded streets.
