12x9" canvas size, framed in antique-black with gold liner, 3" width
Overall framed dimensions 17x14"
Back To The Books was created as a classroom demo, using a brass bookend inspired by Rodin's The Thinker. I found this fantastic prop abandoned by an alley dumpster.
The painting was part of my Exhibition of New Work, May 14-June 30, 2022.
The inspiration and the painting. I found the brass bookend, a reproduction of Rodin's "The Thinker", in an alley near my studio. Coupled with some books from my shelves, I think it makes a nice combination.
