22x28" canvas size, framed in black with gold liner, 3" width Overall framed dimensions 27x33"
Painted in the spring of 2018. Inspired by painting on location in Morocco in 2009. This painting is a new, larger version of a smaller 2010 piece (now in a private collection) of the same scene.
The square is called Jemaa El Fna, and towering above it is the Koutoubia Mosque. The square is often referred to by visitors as "La Place", a name left over from French colonial days.
